Announcing the recipients of the Fall 2021 graduate student research awards

The Program in Judaic Studies is pleased to announce the recipients of the Fall 2021 graduate student research awards.

  • Rob Kashow, a graduate student in Religious Studies, is receiving support to attend the 2021 American Academy of Religion/ Society of Biblical Literature annual conference in San Antonio, TX where he will network with colleagues and present a chapter of his dissertation to the Apocalypse Now program unit. 
  • Josiah Bisbee, a graduate student in Religious Studies, is receiving support to attend the 2021 American Academy of Religion/ Society of Biblical Literature annual conference in San Antonio, TX where he will network with colleagues and present a paper entitled “Yhwh's Wrath and the ‘Rebellious Ones’: Isaiah 66 and Later Rabbinic Literature”.
  • Harley Adams, an MFA student in Playwriting at Brown, is receiving support to conduct historical research into the life of Gaspar da India at the archives of Goa, India.  He will use this research as the basis for a new dramatic work.
  • Gabriel Zuckerberg, a graduate student in the Department of Music, is receiving support to learn   to play klezmer music at the New England Conservatory as part of his research on Yiddish folk culture.
