The Program in Judaic Studies announces The Celia and Carl Michaelson Undergraduate Research Essay Prize

The award will go to the best research essay written by a current Brown University undergraduate (regardless of concentration) on any topic relating to Jews and Judaism. Papers that use interdisciplinary approaches are especially encouraged. Submissions will be judged on the basis of the depth of the research, the clarity and cogency of the argument, and the quality of the writing.

GUIDELINES

We welcome research papers previously written in advanced courses, ervised versions of advanced course research papers, a thesis chapter that can stand on its own, or original research. Submissions should have a maximum of 7,000 words (equivalent to about 25 pages, double-spaced). Only one submission by a current Brown University undergraduate student is allowed. Submit PDF attachments, with your name printed on each numbered page, to judaic@brown.edu with the subject line “Undergraduate Essay Prize”.
